Neymar has reportedly agreed a move to Saudi Arabia side Al-Hilal despite recent rumors that the LA Galaxy were interested in the PSG superstar.

According to French publication L’Equipe, the Brazilian international is closing in on a move to the Middle East, with Neymar now expected to snub a move to MLS despite interest from the Galaxy.

L’Equipe reported earlier this week that one of MLS’ two Los Angeles-based franchises has approached Neymar over a potential transfer, with the Galaxy the most obvious of the two clubs to move for the Brazilian.

The MLS giants are keen to make a superstar signing within their limited restrictions, with Neymar a name who has been strongly linked with the Galaxy over the years.

However, it now appears that Saudi Arabia side Al-Hilal has now won the race for Neymar, a transfer that again raises the profile massively for the Middle Eastern state.

Indeed, Neymar moving to the Galaxy could have been just as big for MLS as Lionel Messi’s switch to Inter Miami has been earlier this summer. Yet the Brazilian now looks unlikely to ever play in America’s top-flight.

Neymar to MLS has been a dream signing for many league supporters as well as for official figures behind the scenes, and the Galaxy had the perfect chance this summer to make the deal a reality.

The PSG winger could have been swayed to MLS had the Galaxy pushed harder and planted seeds in previous years to bring Neymar to America, with Los Angeles in need of a new sporting superstar.

However, that train has now left the station, with Saudi Arabia’s wealth and lack of restrictions once again proving the difference with Neymar en-route to Al-Hilal.
