LA Galaxy youngster Efrain Alvarez is reportedly closing in on a move to Liga MX side Club Tijuana having been left out of the last three matches.
According to journalist Alex Ruiz, the 21-year-old will join the Mexican club having not featured for Greg Vanney’s side since MLS’ return from Leagues Cup last month.
A full Mexico international already, Alvarez was regarded as one of the Galaxy’s most exciting players having come through the MLS giants’ academy.
However, things just haven’t worked out for the attacking midfielder in recent seasons, with Alvarez now set to join the Xolos on a permanent transfer.
Indeed, having once been hailed by Zlatan Ibrahimovic as one of the biggest talents in MLS, it’s a sad end to Alvarez’s time with the Galaxy. Though Mexico could prove to be the right move for the youngster.
Alvarez can thrive in Liga MX once leaving LA Galaxy

Early-career hype can kill a career before it’s even started, and such a statement could reflect Alvarez’s time with the Galaxy in recent years.
There’s no denying that the attack-minded midfielder is one of the best talents to come through the club’s youth system. Yet a change in scenery could get Alvarez’s career back on track.
Moreover, a move to Mexico, in particular, could do wonders for the 21-year-old, who is still very much at the start of his soccer career.
