Former LA Galaxy defender Julian Araujo will reportedly join Las Palmas on loan, with the fullback leaving FC Barcelona for the new season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Mexico international will be unveiled as a new Las Palmas player tomorrow having completed a medical with the Spanish club earlier today.
With Araujo yet to make his professional debut for Barcelona, a loan move to a fellow La Liga side in Las Palmas could be an excellent step in the 21-year-old defender’s development.
After all the drama of Araujo’s move from the Galaxy to Barcelona, the fullback heading out for the season is exactly what the former MLS wonderkid needs to get his career back on track.
Araujo leaving Barcelona on loan exactly what is needed

Araujo is without question a talented player and arguably the most exciting youngster to come out of the Galaxy’s academy in recent years. Yet leaving Barcelona on loan could work wonders for the defender.
Having not made a professional appearance for the seniors, Araujo is in need of regular top-flight minutes way from Catalonia. And Las Palmas will provide the defender just that.
Whilst a return to the Galaxy would have been a dream, playing week-in week-out in La Liga will do wonders to Araujo’s development, with the fullback more than capable of competing in one of Europe’s best divisions.
