Javier Hernandez has hinted that he could retire from soccer at the end of this season after spending most of the year out through injury.
Speaking on his official TikTok account, the LA Galaxy striker revealed that he has no plan yet on when he would retire, but did hint that it could be after this MLS season.
Hernandez said: “I don’t know how old I plan to retire. It could be after this season, in two, three, in five. It’s a decision I want to make complete sense.”
Having missed most of the 2023 MLS season due to an ACL injury, the 35-year-old attacker could well consider retiring at the end of this year.
With Hernandez’s contract with the Galaxy also expiring at the end of the season, the forward could decide that now is the right time to retire from the game.

Hernandez retiring from soccer will be a major event for the sport in North America, with the Mexico legend one of the best the continent has ever produced.
Yet with the striker still out through injury and unlikely to recover in the long-term from something as serious as an ACL tear, Hernandez could find it best to retire this year.
Indeed, the decision will be a tough one to make, yet given what Hernandez has done in his career, hanging up his boots now would be something many fans will agree with.
